Ms. Powers is a Senior Retail-Marketing Executive with over 20 years of experience in the Grocery, Syndicated Data and Business Intelligence Industry. She is a business professional with a record of accomplishment directing Category Management and identifying incremental new business opportunities in the grocery industry. She has a proven ability to successfully develop and apply leading-edge technologies, processes and solutions to achieve corporate growth, profitability goals and increased customer satisfaction. Francine is an experienced team leader with excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills. After graduating from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a BS degree in International Marketing, she started her career at the A.C. Nielsen Company, one of the industry leaders for turning data into actionable strategies and tactics that drive sales and profits. Francine then began a career with Tops Markets Inc. as a Merchandising Analyst, was quickly promoted to Ahold Category Manager/Synergy Facilitator and then a Senior Manager in the Tops Retail Information Technology Department. She ensured that category teams received the tactical and analytical support, training, and execution necessary to develop factually sound, consumer-driven category business plans, in support of the overall Corporate Strategic Plan. Consistently one of the top performers, she negotiated with the broker/manufacturer community to establish the first on-site space management vendor-funded analysts at Tops Markets and was instrumental in the development and rollout of the revolutionary Ahold In Store Execution (ISE) program. She then became head of Category Management for Tops Markets / Ahold USA. She directed the implementation of Category Management and category business plans. She oversaw the application of data, tools, training, and process in the areas of marketing, merchandising, procurement, supply chain, advertising and execution. Due to her vision, leadership skills and ability to take new initiatives from concept to reality; she was a key player on the Ahold Marketing-Merchandising Executive Steering Team, designed to ensure Best in Class designation in all areas. Her area of expertise cross all categories and brands through-out the grocery store; including growing sales, profits and household penetration of specialty-natural-organic items via in-depth analysis and execution of optimal product assortment, pricing, promotion and placement. Francine is married and is the mother of Kristina, Joshua and Katherine. Katherine suffers from life threatening food allergies to peanuts and dairy ... as well as many other minor food allergies. Francine’s passion and focus now include creating safer food choices for our children, and offering her in-depth industry expertise and knowledge in an effort to help all children eat healthier.
